Multi-unit Development

Gateway Survey & Planning obtained approval for a Multi-unit Development (62 units) in Wynnum West.

Brisbane City Council issued an approval for a Multi-unit Development for 62 units in Wynnum West.  The proposed development faced a number of challenges as the site is constrained by Waterway Corridor, Natural Assets Local Law (Vegetation Protection) and flooding.  Council also raised biodiversity concerns associated with the habitat trees existing in the lower portions of the site.

The layout and design of the proposed Multi-unit Development were amended several times to address Council’s concerns.  Council identified several trees to be retained.  The location of these trees determined the location of the open space in the development.

Council also requested that the development have an appealing streetscape. The proposed Multi-unit Development maximises the use of recesses and varied facades, landscaping and a light colour scheme to reduce bulk and increase visual amenity.

Although the property had some challenges, we were able to present a feasible solution to Council and approval was given.
